When not addressed properly, this might result in disappointment when your cloud computing system fails to fulfill certain expectations that you might have prior to deploying it. There are quite a lot of organizations and businesses out there that are facing problems and troubles with their cloud computing system, but in most cases the reason behind these problems and troubles have little to do with the cloud itself. Rather, there are certain mistaken beliefs that stakeholders might have when they make the decision to migrate to the cloud, and in order to have a successful implementation of cloud computing system it is important for these beliefs to be addressed.

One of the most common assumption that one can mistakenly hold when it comes to the cloud computing technology is how it is perceived to be a vastly different beast altogether than other information technology. However, the truth is that if you are currently having trouble maintaining and managing your current infrastructure, migrating to the cloud computing system will not magically help you create efficient infrastructure management measures all at once. While it is true that migrating to cloud computing will give you a huge boost in productivity as well as efficiency, and that it will greatly help in enabling greater level of agility, it is not a fix-all solution to the problems you might have had in regards to your infrastructure. Instead, prior to migrating to cloud computing it is important for you to ensure that all of your infrastructure are capable of making the migration, and to ensure that potential problems are addressed beforehand.

The increasing popularity and adaptation of cloud computing has also resulted in quite a few organizations and businesses rushing to make the transition to cloud just because every other organizations are doing it. This is a bad practice, and you shall not make a decision to migrate to cloud computing just because you see others doing it. Instead, it is important to first analyze your own needs and requirements and see if the cloud can address all those needs. In some cases, you might not even need to migrate to cloud computing at all. Even if you decide to migrate to cloud computing, it is important to remember that you should only do so shall you see the need for it, and make sure that you are doing the proper preparation before you start the migration process in order to avoid any problem arising in the future due to your own lack of foresight.

Lastly, you should never leave the migration process to the cloud vendors themselves without involving yourself in it. Even if you have limited knowledge on cloud computing or technology in general, you still need to take your time and learn it in order to ensure that your new system is in accordance to all standard security and compliance measures.
