Classes on DevOps in WSO2 Cloud Event

The world is moving at a much faster pace with each passing decade and to keep up with the pace, organizations, governments and industries are utilizing DevOps principles. WSO2 is an open source company which provides SOA software programs to fulfill this purpose. The company is organizing a Summer School this year to train IT architects with the usage of cloud applications.

WSO2, Lean Enterprise Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) Middleware Company, is organizing online classes on creating Cloud-Aware Applications and utilizing DevOps to automate and improve development processes. WSO2 aims on increased computation and automation and provides free and open source software programs, which are widely used for governance, business, security and other purposes.

WSO2 is organizing WSO2 Cloud Summer School 2012, which is a webinar series extending from June 12 – July 24. The main purpose of the summer school is to familiarize IT architects with the SOA technologies. This year the classes will focus on the WSO2 Cloud Platform – from selecting a cloud platform to developing cloud applications, scaling cloud deployments, and demonstrating cloud value The classes will explore how IT professionals can combine and modify applications with management, deployment, cloud management services, and registries to maintain tool chain compatibility and optimize the cloud development experience. The WSO2 Cloud Summer School classes are being conducted by Chris Haddad and Senaka Fernando. Chris Haddad, Vice President, Technology Evangelism, WSO2, works with the software developers and engineering team to expand WSO2 middleware technology adoption and improve the Carbon and Cloud platform. Senaka Fernando, Associate Technical Lead and Product Manager, WSO2 Governance Registry, conducts workshops to train enterprise architects and developers.

The first WSO2 Cloud Summer School class, “Framework for Selecting a Cloud Application Platform,” revolved around how IT professionals use their cloud software system to upgrade the use and delivery of software and achieve their goal. The second WSO2 class, “Building a Cloud-Aware Application,” focused on how to create applications using Cloud-Aware application platform. The third WSO2 class, “Delivering On-Demand, Shared Middleware Services,” explored how IT professionals can modify applications to meet the demands and requirements.

The fourth WSO2 Cloud Summer School class, “Adopting DevOps and Automating Governance,” will take place on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (PDT), without any fees. The class will examine how DevOps and automated governance are core Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) attributes. Furthermore, the class will discuss the characteristics and applications of other products of WSO2 SOA Platform, including WSO2 Carbon and WSO2 AppFactory.
